Welcome to East Side

Cameron Davis

Cameron Davis

Lead Pastor

Hey there! My name is Cameron Davis. I grew up in Salem, IL where I met my wife, Lydia. We got married at Christmas time in 2013 and have since had two children: Ava Joy and Eden Hope. We also have a fur baby, Sadie, who is a big part of our family as well. I am a committed St. Louis Cardinals and Blues fan, enjoy roasting and drinking coffee and love to be outdoors in any capacity. I have a BA in Pastoral Ministry from Greenville University and have also served as a chaplain at Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis. I am passionate about ministry in a small group setting as well as organic outreach and relationship building within our own community. I’d love to meet you!

Luisa Mendoza

Hispanic Pastor

I am Pastor Luisa Mendoza. I am originally from Bolivia, South America. My husband Raul and I have been married since 2003, and we have a beautiful daughter, Mary-Grace. As a family, we delight in serving God and His people.

I have served the Lord since I was a teenager in different capacities: prayer leader, evangelist, missionary, and Pastor. I like to read, tell stories, and I enjoy long walks with my two little dogs Rhino and Megamind. After a few years of hard work, I obtained a Counseling degree at Nazarene Bible College in 2019. I am truly grateful to be able to serve as the Pastor of the Hispanic Ministry in Mattoon East Side Church of the Nazarene since October 2019.

What to expect

What should I wear?
Come as you are! You’ll fit in whether you’re in shorts, jeans, slacks, or a dress. We’ll be comfortable on stage so you should be comfortable in the seats.
What does a worship gathering look like?
Our Sunday morning services are entertaining and inspiring.

You’ll also hear a practical, challenging-but-encouraging message each week. The message of Jesus Christ is a message of Hope. It’s our prayer that each week God will show you that following Jesus will make your life better and make you better at life. Each Sunday we gather together and worship God through song, prayer, and the word.

We GATHER and SCATTER.

East Side has several Life groups that meet throughout our community each week.

We are a multicultural group.

We offer a Hispanic Sunday School class and translated services for our Hispanic friends via Bluetooth headset.

You can expect a friendly and welcoming environment.

East Side is a safe, fun, and engaging environment for your children.

Our Beliefs

We Believe

in one God-the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
that the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living.

We Believe

that man is born with a fallen nature, and is, therefore, inclined to evil, and that continually.

We Believe

that the finally impenitent are hopelessly and eternally lost.

We Believe

that the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race; and that whosoever repents and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and regenerated and saved from the dominion of sin.

We Believe

that believers are to be sanctified wholly, subsequent to regeneration, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

We Believe

that the Holy Spirit bears witness to the new birth, and also to the entire sanctification of believers.

We Believe

that our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgment will take place.

East Side is a part of the Church of the Nazarene, a Protestant Christian church in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition. Organized in 1908, the Church is now home to more than 2.5 million members worshiping in over 30,000 local congregations in 160 world areas.
