SUNDAY SCHOOL - Christian education is important at every age
and we strive to have a learning environment that fits the individual.
We not only have preschool through elementary classes, but also have
junior high, high school and college / career classes along with two
adults groups.
NMI (Nazarene Missions International) - The Church of the Nazarene is a very mission minded denomination, reaching 149 world areas with the gospel of Jesus Christ. In
our local church, we set aside the first Sunday evening service of each
month for special NMI emphasis. In these services information and
challenges are offered to the local congregation concerning, not only
our global responsibilities, but also those mission fields across the
street.
NYI (Nazarene Youth International) - Our church's youth are
active, not only on the local level, but enjoy the many activites that
are offered by the Illinois District. Bonding through a solid social
group with good moral and spiritual values is a very important part of
entering the adult world. Through activities and meetings designed to
embrace the need for youth to be a part of the church, NYI serves as
the nucleus for our teens.

Choral Tapestry (Worship Choir) - Each Sunday morning worship
experience is heightened by the vocal offerings of Choral Tapestry.
Whether it is traditional or contemporary, a cappella or fully
accompanied, CT uses God's gift of music to compliment the worship
service. We believe this ministry is an integral part of the total
worship experience. Many of Choral Tapestry's members are regularly
featured soloists as well.
KEDS (Kids @ East Side Doing Sundays)
Childrens Church - KEDS is a specially structured time of worship for
the younger (elementary) crowd. After "Children's Moments" in the main
service, primary school kids "have church". Scripture lessons and
singing, for their age, makes Sunday morning worship come alive.
Wee Church (Preschool Church)
- Scripture lessons, singing and crafts are the fare of the kids in Wee
Church. Special activities encourage 3-5 year olds to learn about God's
love and prepare them for future worship times.
International Sunday School Lesson Broadcast
- The 30 minute Sunday morning radio broadcast of the International
Sunday School Lesson material has been an ongoing project that has
become our privilege to inherit. Local station, WLBH-AM 1170 provides
broadcast time for this vital spiritual link that ministers to the
surrounding counties at 50,000 watts, The lesson material is the only
way some folks have a Sunday School time. Many in health care
facilities and those forced by mobility issues, as well as Sunday
School teachers themselves benifit from this service each Sunday
morning at 8:30 am.

Our Statement Of Purpose is; " Believing we are called to be God's people, we recognize our responsibility and privilege to love God, to love our fellow human beings, to serve both God and humanity as an expression of that love, and to teach His Word diligently, all with the aim and hope of wining the lost."

At the turn of the 20th century, the Church of the Nazarene was born!
P.F. Bresee and others were deeply convicted that God had raised them
up for the express purpose of proclaiming to the church and world the
gospel of Jesus Christ in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition. There are
unmistakable marks of providence on the denomination. From a fledgling
movement, the Church of the Nazarene now exceeds 1.3 million in
membership and is in 135 countries of the world. (2001) At the turn
of the 21st century, the future of this denomination has never been
brighter! Many believe that we were raised up, not for the 20th
century, but for the 21st century. We are positioned to make a major
contribution to our post-modern world. This affirmation is grounded in
our Wesleyan-Holiness heritage with its radical optimism of grace. We
believe that human nature, and ultimately society, can be radically and
permanently changed by the grace of God. We have an irrepressible
confidence in the message of hope, which flows from the heart of our
holy God. P.F. Bresee was fond of saying, "The sun never sets in the
morning." It is still morning in the Church of the Nazarene, and the
sun never sets on our denomination around the world. We are radically
optimistic about impacting our 21st century world with the Holiness
message! With clarity of vision, total commitment, and firm faith, we
view this new century as our day a greatest opportunity for making
Christlike disciples of all nations.

We Are a Christian People As members of the
Church Universal, we join with all believers in proclaiming the
Lordship of Jesus Christ and in embracing the historic Trinitarian
creedal statements of Christian faith. We value our Wesleyan-Holiness
heritage and believe it to be a way of understanding the faith that is
true to Scripture, reason, tradition, and experience.
We Are a Holiness People God,
who is holy, calls us to a life of holiness. We believe that the Holy
Spirit seeks to do in us a second work of grace, called by various
terms including "entire sanctification" and "baptism with the Holy
Spirit" -cleansing us from all sin; renewing us in the image of God;
empowering us to love God with our whole heart, soul, mind, and
strength, and our neighbors as ourselves; and producing in us the
character of Christ. Holiness in the life of believers is most clearly
understood as Christlikeness.
We Are a Missional People We
are a "sent people," responding to the call of Christ and empowered by
the Holy Spirit to go into all the world, witnessing to the Lordship of
Christ and participating with God in the building of the Church and the
extension of His kingdom ( 2 Corinthians 6:1). Our mission (a) begins
in worship, (b) ministers to the world in evangelism and compassion,
(c) encourages believers toward Christian maturity through
discipleship, and (d) prepares women and men for Christian service
through Christian higher education.
